Every reader is looking for something a little different when they read a piece of travel writing. Some people want poetic descriptions of new places. Others want a practice how-to guide for visiting a particular location. The most popular travel blogs have two things in common: information and pictures.

Information is critical because a good blog aims to educate its readers. You want to read about unique experiences and special moments that were enjoyed in a city or a town or on a mountain or seaside. You also want to learn about what you’ll need to know when you visit yourself. Popular blogs include information on how to get around, where to stay, and what to eat.

Another commonality is photographs. Good travel blogging must include engaging photos and sometimes even videos. People want to be taken directly to that place the writer visited, and a photo can help do that.
