8 month sleep regression happen when a baby who has been sleeping well begins to sleep for a short period, wakes up in the middle of the night or becomes fussy during bedtime. Sleep difficult for an 8-month old may last for a period of 3 to 6 weeks and may be caused by factors such as;

Separation anxiety

This happens when the baby does not want to be left alone because at this age they are very clingy.


Most babies start learning how to crawl at this age and they are usually excited about the new skill and some may want to do all the time.

Practice separation, sleep train them, have a bed time routine and also be don’t be hard on yourself or the baby because sleep regression is a temporal process.
