When it comes to the killer whale Cape Cod is rare country. The area sees few killer whales, with the last sighting in June 2019. Because the cape is usually far too shore for the large animals, they usually just swim by far out to sea, usually on the way to better hunting grounds. However, every so often a boat will see one of the orca much closer to land, and so they will see a rare sight.

Killer whales are usually seen much further north, usually around Newfoundland and Labrador. The killer whales are also seen along the west coast, but due to their endangered status they are rarely seen by humans. However, they have been seen at various points all along the North American east coast. These can make for some rare sights and delight those who see them.
